Mamboz
experience real barbecue

Mamboz, in the heart of town
Located in the heart of town, surrounded by people strolling the streets, Mamboz may not have a five star seating arrangement, but it definitely ranks higher than five stars when it comes to taste.
Service is generally quick, especially for those doing takeout. There are no long waits and food is often barbecued in the front of the restaurant, visible to the customers.
The price range is very affordable and no dish on the menu exceeds 8000tsh.
The food very much reflects that of the local cuisine and main courses consist of barbecued foods such as sekela chicken and chicken pilipili. Food is generally spicy but can be mild upon request. There is a small variety of prawns and fish available as well as a variety of chinese-style main courses however the specialty is barbecued foods.

Mamboz Combo: (8000/-)
1/4 pili pili chicken, 2 sticks mishkaki, 2 sticks nundu, 1 stick beef seekh, 1 ajam & fries)

Pilipili chicken
"Just the smell of the chicken wafting through the air is enough to flare up your nostrils. I could not wait to get home and unpack the takeout! The barbecued chicken is marinated in pilipili sauce and has succulent juice rolling down the sides, inviting you to take a bite. Your lips will enter the heavenliest of states once you take that first taste. The spicy flavor spreads through your mouth and invades your saliva, leaving your mouth watering for more. If you're not accustomed to Indian-style food, you may need a bottle of water or two to get you through the meal!
Seekh Kebab
The mishkaki is just as good, but more bearable for those who prefer a milder meal. Nundu, on the other hand, is fibrous fat. As you munch on it, the moist juice flows down your throat, preparing a grand entrance for the meat to follow. Beef seekh kebab is a well-known Indian dish filled with rich spices and a spicy flavor that lingers in your mouth longer after you've treated your stomach. Finally, nothing tops the freshly fried fries that serve as the perfect side plate to go with your meal."

Sala Thai
a taste of thai in tanzania

Sala Thai at Village Walk
Been on the run the whole day and the last thing on your to-do list is the groceries? Stop at the Village Walk, and indulge in a quick Thai meal to power up your day. Within the Village Walk complex and opposite Sea Cliff Village, Sala Thai is primely located!
Common for takeout as well as eating in the food hall area, Sala Thai's dishes are prepared within ten minutes. It gets even better... each person orders their own dish (dish comes with rice), none exceeding 7,500tsh. per dish. Add in a soda and you've got yourself an 8000tsh. combo! The options are limitless; beef, chicken, seafood and even choices for vegetarians!

Pad Prik Gai Plate with Rice

Mixing the rice and chicken
"A spicy aroma fills the air as the chicken arrives, tingling your taste buds and sending your hands rushing for your knife and fork! The dish you ordered arrives in a bowl separate from the plain rice that sits on the plate.  You can either mix them together or eat separately - mixing together is highly recommended. Pad prik gai essentially means "stir-fried chicken" and that is exactly what the dish is... the chili however is not your ordinary spicy. It's hot enough to burn your tongue and stain your lips so be sure to request less chili if you can't handle the heat! The portions are generous but may not be enough to satisfy a growling stomach. Either way, it'll satisfy your taste buds... this is the quickest, tastiest and cheapest way to enjoy Thai cuisine."
